This week I run a series of experiments using a water pump to simulate complex, and changing environments. I tested the 3.* modules for this experiments, programmed with a mid-outer ring configuration. The turbulence generated by the water pump, solved the error correction issues observed in the previous experiments, and the final organization of the modules was the snowflake pattern 100% of the times. However, the shape of the modules continue to be an issue, preventing them from assembling in some cases (see the second video). For the next […]

For the past year and a half, I have studied at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP), and this experience has sparked and strengthened my interest in thinking about new media as tool for creating architecture. It has been a process that has led me to think about composition and systems in new ways. I’m interested in challenging the tradition in architecture of separating design and construction knowledge; and in exploring architectures that use energy in alternative ways, challenging our views […]

This is a first approach to understand the Citibike system, using data analysis and data visualization techniques from my Social Data Analysis class at ITP. I decided to think about Citibike, because I am interested in how a physical network connects the city. This is just a visualization that shows how the system behaved between Feb 03 to Feb 09. At the beginning, I struggled finding a way to approach the Citibike data, this was my first graph, that shows the […]
